Joel Edwards is now offering Personal, One-On-One Gamehead Taxidermy Seminars, By Appointment Only. 
 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR 

Joel Edwards is a full-time, NTA Certified, Master Big Game Taxidermist, with 22 years experience.  He has also earned the NTA “Award of Excellence” in Big Game Taxidermy, and is an NTA Certified Competition Judge.  Joel has won many Major Awards with his Gameheads at State, Regional and National Competitions.

Joel has a Bachelors Degree in Animal and Wildlife Science, and a Masters Degree in Education, from New Mexico State University, and he taught High School in New Mexico for 32 ½ years.

Joel is a Lifetime Member of the National Taxidermists Association, and serves on the National Board of Directors, where he is Chairman of the NTA Competition Judges Committee, the NTA Affiliate Network Committee, and the NTA Judges Association.  He currently serves as NTA Vice President and received the NTA “Director of the Year” Award in 2006.  He is also the Past President of the New Mexico Taxidermy Association and has received the McKenzie Distinguished Service Award, and the NTA Distinguished Service Award.
 

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

Joel’s Personal, One-On-One, Gamehead Seminars are Professional, Interesting, Informative, and Complete.   Joel won many Teaching Awards while teaching High School in New Mexico, including “Teacher of the Year” Awards.

A Typical Seminar for One Gamehead Species is 2 ½ Days.

Seminars are also Offered for One Week (5 ½ Days) for two Gamehead Species.

Special One Day Seminars can usually be Arranged.

The Student  will choose the Big Game species that he or she wants to mount, before scheduling the Seminar.

Joel will Demonstrate Mounting an animal of the Same Species, that the student  chooses, while the student  watches and asks questions.

He will then Instruct the student, while the student does his or her own mount.

These two mounts are done side-by-side.

All these Gamehead Seminars are mostly “Hands On”.

The student will have a mount to take home with them, upon the completion of their Seminar.  Each student should bring a small piece of plywood (approximately 2 Ft. X 3 Ft.) to attach their mount to, for the ride home.

Each student is required to bring their Horns or Antlers, and a Rehydrated, Tanned Cape with them to the Seminar.  Any Holes should be Repaired, and the Nostrils, Lips and Eyes should be thinned down, prior to the Seminar, in order to Save Time.

The student is also required to bring their own Form and Eyes.  All other Supplies will be Furnished. 

Room and Board are also Furnished.

A 50 % Deposit is required to Book a Seminar Date.  All remaining fees are due upon the start of the Seminar.  These Fees may be paid by Cash, Money Order, Cashiers Check, or by Major Credit Card.  All Personal Checks require 10 Days to clear, and cannot be used for remaining balances. 

Student will receive an attractive Completion Certificate, upon successful completion of each Seminar.
